Legal Unit
 The
unit provided assistance to the Council meetings by preparing legal
documents such as resolutions for Council's action. Legal assistance
was also provided to the Council Staff in connection with implementation
of the provisions of Republic Act
7611 and in filing of court cases against violators of environmental
laws and regulations. For this year, two (2) environmental cases
were filed while appearance in court for the arraignment of the
Calauit case was also done.
Different meetings with other government agencies were attended to strengthen linkages and support in law enforcement. Moreover, assistance to the PTFPP on the implementation of the Mount Mantalingahan Management Area was also undertaken.
Council Secretariat
The minutes of one special meeting and six regular meetings of the Council were transcribed and seventeen (17) resolutions passed from January to December 2001. These resolutions were prepared in collaboration with the concerned PCSDS units. Moreover, total of 194 applications were issued SEP clearance. Follow-up letters were likewise drafted and sent to concerned agencies. A summary of the decisions reached and policies formulated was prepared.
Before each Council meeting, a briefing kit inclusive of the proposed agenda was prepared and distributed to PSCD members.
