Coordination

PSCTAZ. Assistance and coordination works were provided to the DMOs and concerned agencies regarding the submission of data and other pertinent reports related to the proclamation of Tribal Ancestral Zone.

A total of 5 CALC and 3 CADC were already proclaimed. Processing of 2 CALC and 1 CADC is on-going. This included the initial result of validation of survey, the request of Aborlan LGU to undertake ground/validation survey, request for the original maps and technical description from the ECAN Division and the necessary documents/applications for a Tribal Ancestral Zone in Brgy Marufinas, Cabayugan, Puerto Princesa City. Attended meetings in Aborlan Environmental Board and in Caramay, Roxas on the Revised Guidelines in the Identification and Delineation of TAZ.

CBFM. Meetings were also attended regarding the implementation of the CBFM wherein, the illegal transport of lumber from Candis CBFM was discussed, Director Matulac in conference with his field evaluators and also with the PEEDO-PIPBAC on the one village-one product task zone meeting. MOA for the said activity was reviewed during the meeting. Provided assistance in the facilitation of meeting in resolution of conflict between BFARMCO CBFM versus farm lot owners in Roxas. Likewise, a meeting was also attended in Nasiguipe CBFM, regarding the delineation and survey of its CBFM.

CLP/QRS. Attended multi-sectoral meeting regarding the reported illegal tanbarking in Balabac. Coordinated/assisted in the facilitation of meeting with PENRO the illegal occupation and destruction of mangrove area in Quezon and wood recovery permit. A multi-sectoral team will be formulated. Moreover, an ocular inspection on the illegal quarry in Narra and in Inagawan, PPC. Assisted the conduct of meeting with PENRO re: the illegal occupation and destruction of mangrove area in Panitian, Quezon and Wood Recovery Permit.

Calauit Game Preserve and Wildlife Sanctuary. Followed up with PNP Commander regarding Security personnel to be assigned in Calauit. Facilitated the request for the replacement of high powered ammunition and the CAFGU Training. The requirements and budget proposal were accomplished for the training.

Protected Areas. Attended the Conservation Management Planning Workshop for the Malampaya Sound Protected Landscape and Seascape.

Assistance to Other Operating Units

EMES. Assisted in the facilitation of CRA map for Brooke's Point for drafting their Fishery Code. Initial validation/verification on RTN Hydrometallurgical Processing Plant in Rio Tuba, Bataraza, Palawan was made. The report was presented to the PCSD Council Meeting last August 2001. Coordinated with the DMO regarding the conduct of CRAs in Bataraza and Española. Assisted the Policy Research Unit in the arrangement re: Public Consultation on Edible Birds Nest and Guano Concession.

DMOs. Consolidated fish traders reports and further provided assistance in the evaluation of some projects. Communication to proponents were sent regarding additional requirements. Coordinated with the DMOs on the conduct of IEC workshops. Assisted the DMO III re SAKURA Pearl Farm survey and delineation. Participated during conduct of validation/verification on RTN Hydrometallurgical Processing Plant in Rio Tuba.

This included the interview of the concern in Gotok Limestone Quarry. Assisted in the evaluation of documents prior to the actual inspection and evaluation of projects for issuance of SEP Clearance. Facilitated the distribution of the PCSD Clearance/accreditation to the concerned proponent.

ECAN. Coordination works were undertaken regarding the production of the Revised ECAN Map for all the municipalities. A total of 6 maps were provided to LGUs.

Research. Provided assistance regarding the proposed public consultation on the edible birds nest and the guano concessionaires.

Other Matters. Facilitated/Assisted the conduct of a Special Study on Poverty Reduction on SPIADP by the ADB.

Management Information System

MIS Data Processing The lists of milestones generated from the CY 2001 Work Program for both the PCSDS and the PTFPP were prepared and encoded. Meanwhile, three (3) quarterly reports were consolidated and submitted to concerned agencies.

Moreover, assistance was also provided to the M & E Unit of the PTFPP regarding the conduct of a study on the incidence of water-borne diseases in the area where the water systems of the programme were installed. Assistance also was provided in the preparation of the 2 year extension and on the phase in /out of the PTFPP.

Assistance was also provided in the finalization of the SPIADP Project Completion Report and also during the conduct of the ADB Project Completion Review Mission.
