Scientific Name : Nepenthes philippinensis Macfarl
" Kuong-kuong is a terrestrial climber 10 m tall. The leaves are chartaceous, sessile, those of climbing stems oblanceolate-ligulate, 28 cm long and 3.6 cm wide. Lower pitchers are ovoid, 16 cm long and and with two fringed wings; peristome rounded. Upper pitchers are subcylindrical, slightly inflated in lower third. The male inflorescence is 67 cm long; peduncle 18 cm long. Exterior pitchers are green, speckled maroon in lower half, maroon speckled green in upper half; peristome maroon.
This species is endemic to Palawan: In Bacungan, Puerto Princesa: Mt. Victoria, Trident Mine area, Brooke's Point (Caramay), and Mt. Bloomfield. It is found on steep slopes on ultramafic soils, 500 m altitude."
