Wild Palawan Agoho
Common Name : Wild Palawan agoho ( Eng )
Local Name :
Scientific Name : Ceuthostoma palawanense L.A.S. Johnson
"The Wild Palawan agoho is a small to medium-sized tree, 5 m or taller, with branches spreading, widest at the lowest branch and gradually tapering at the terminal branches. The leaf-like branches are jointed, green in color, 20 cm or longer. It flowers in axils or branches, 1 cm across, white or cream. The fruit is an achene, brown in color and hard.
This species is endemic to Palawan. In Mt. Bloomfield, it grows in landslips, and newly opened areas of forests over ultrabasic soil. The population of this species is rather small and is threatened because of mining and quarrying activities. This plant looks like a small pine tree and is of high ornamental value"
