Local Name :
Scientific Name : Cinnamomum sp.
" This is a shrub that develops into a small tree, 5 m tall. The leaves are alternate, oblong, apex acute to acuminate, base obtuse, with three prominent longitudinal veins across the lamina. The flowers are minute.
Wild Palawan cinnamon is endemic to Palawan and is found in lowland forests in Irawan and Iwahig Penal Colony.
This species is related to kalingag (Cinnamomum mercadoi ) but the leaves have less aromatic content and have medicinal properties. There are several species of Cinnamomum found in the forests of Palawan, many of them containing the characteristic aromatic scent of cinammon."
