PCSD RESOLUTION NO. 94-64

RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PROPOSED TERMS OF REFERENCE FOR THE MASTER PLANNING STUDY OF ULUGAN DAY AS SUBMITTED BY THE ULUGAN BAY STUDY COMMITTEE

WHEREAS, R,A. 7611, otherwise known as the Strategic Environmental Plan (SEP) for Palawan, took effect on 19 June 1992 and Section 16 of said Act provides tha t the governance, implementationand policy direction of the SEP shall be exercised by the Palawan Counci1 for Sustainable Development (PCSD)? under the Office of the President;

WHEREAS, Section 6 of R.A. 7611 also provides; that the SEP shall serve as the framework to guide the government, agencies concerned in the formulation of plans, programs and projects affecting the environment and natural resources of Palawan ;

WHEREAS, the PCSD, in its 26th Counci1 meeting held on 27 May 1994, created, through Resolution No, 94-49, a Study Committee on Ulugan Bay to define and recommend to the Council the terms of Reference for the conduct of a Master Plan Study for Ulugan Bay and identify and recornmend to the Council the possible funding source(s) for the Study;

WHEREAS, His Excellency President Fidel V. Ramos on 25 August 1994 directed the the respective secretaries of the Departments of Tourism, Agriculture r Environment and Natural Resources, Trade and Industry, and National Defense, to joint1y contribute to the financial requirements of the Ulugan Bay Master Plan;

WHEREAS, the Ulugan Bay Study Committee formulated the Proposed Terms of Reference for the Master Planning of Ulugan Bay and presented the same to the Council for approval;

NOW THEREFORE, upon unanimous motion, all the members of the council present;

RESOLVED, as it is hereby resolve, that the proposed Terms of Reference for the Ulugan Bay Master Planning Study as submitted by the Ulugan Bay Study Committee be approved;

RESOLVED FURTHER, that the Chairman of the Ulugan Bay Study Committee and the PCSD Staff be directed. as it is hereby directed, to coordinate in the acquisition of the funding assistance and the Consultants for the Study and the reactivation of the Study Committee in relation to the acquisition of Consultants and the monitoring and evaluation of the Consultant's output for the Council's final approval and appropriate action;

RESOLVED FINALLY, that copies of this resolution be furnished to all concerned agencies for their information, consideration and appropriate action.
