"RESOLUTION APPOINTING ATTY. JOSELITO C. ALISUAG AS NATIONAL CO-DIRECTOR OF PALAWAN TROPICAL FORESTRY PROTECTION PROGRAMME (PTFPP)"

WHEREAS, Republic Act No. 7611 also known as the Strategic Plan for Palawan (SEP) Act was approved on June 19, 1992 as the comprehensive framework for the sustainable development of Palawan, which shall guide the local government units and the government agencies concerned in the formulation and implementation of plans, programs and projects affecting the province;

WHEREAS, Section 16 of Republic Act No. 7611 provides that the governance, implementation and policy direction of the SEP shall be exercised by the Palawan Council for Sustainable Development (PCSD), under the Office of the President;

WHEREAS, as part of the 1993 aid programme of the European Union, the Palawan Tropical Forestry Protection Programme (PTFPP) was established to assist in the preservation of the forests in the Palawan through an area-based project emphasizing a community-based sustainable and development strategy, within the framework of SEP under RA 7611 and the NIPAS under RA 7586.

WHEREAS, the Financing Memorandum between the Government of the Philippines and the European Union on the PTFPP provides that for administrative purposes the PTFPP Project Office shall be established as an administrative unit within PCSDS and that the PCSD Chairman shall appoint a National Co-Director, at an appropriate senior level, to take charge of the Project Office and to be jointly responsible with the European Co-Director for the implementation of the project.

WHEREFORE, upon unanimous motion of the members present, RESOLVED, as hereby it is RESOLVED, to appoint Atty. JOSELITO C. ALISUAG as National Co-Director of the Palawan Tropical Forestry Protection Progamme, effective 16 November 1999;

RESOLVED FURTHER, that the PCSD Chairman be authorized to formalize and sign the pertinent documents of his appointment;

RESOLVED FINALLY, that copy of this resolution be furnished the European Union Delegation Office in Manila for concurrence and the National Economic and Development Authority for information and guidance.
