"A RESOLUTION INVITING THE SECRETARY OF THE DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY TO BE A MEMBER OF THE PALAWAN COUNCIL FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT"

WHEREAS, Section 16 of Republic Act No. 7611 created the Palawan Council for Sustainable Development, under the Office of the President, as the administrative machinery for the governance, implementation and policy direction of the Strategic Environment Plan for Palawan Act;

WHEREAS, the same section of the law empowers the Council to admit members as deemed necessary in the performance of its mandated functions:

WHEREAS, in 2004, then Secretary Vicente Perez was admitted as Council member, representing the Office of the President, in his capacity as cabinet coordinator for Palawan;

WHEREAS, in view of the numerous activities pertaining to oil exploration and gas production in the Province of Palawan, the Council deemed it necessary to invite the participation as council member of the Secretary of the Department of Energy;

NOW THEREFORE, upon motion of Representative Abraham Kahlil B. Mitra, unanimously seconded, the Council resolves, as it is hereby resolved, to invite Secretary Angelo T. Reyes, as hereby he is invited, to sit as member of the Council representing the Department of Energy;

RESOLVED FINALLY, that copy of this resolution be furnished the Secretary of the Department of Energy for his information and consideration.
