RESOLUTION REQUIRING THE NATIONAL POWER CORPORATION TO IMMEDIATELY ORGANIZE A PROJECT MANAGEMENT OFFICE IN PALAWAN FOR ITS BACKBONE TRANSMISSION LINE PROJECT AND ENDORSING ENGR, ANTONIO P. GABINETE AS ITS PROJECT MANAGER

WHEREAS, the Palawan Council For Sustainable Development (PCSD) in pursuance of its functions stipulated by R.A. 7611 known as the Strategic Environmental Plan (SEP) Act, in a resolution (No. 93-29), approved last 09 July 1993, endorsed the Palawan Backbone Transmission Line Project for implementation by the National Power Corporation;

WHEREAS, the Council is pleased to note that the abovecited Project is already going-on in full swing;

WHEREAS, the NPC has yet to organize and establish its Project Management Office in Palawan for its abovecited Project;

WHEREAS, it is a common knowledge among council members that Engr. Antonio Gabinete of NPC's Engineering Service Small Island Grid Development Department, has been effectively assisting time of its inception;

WHEREAS, the Council believes that Engr. Gabinete in the most appropriate person could provide the leadership and will in the abovecited Project;

NOW THEREFORE, by unanimous motion by the members present, the Palawan Council For Sustainable Development hereby resolves to request the National Power Corporation to immediately organize its Project Management Office here in Palawan for its Backbone to be its Project Manager;

RESOLVED FURTHER, that copies of this resolution be sent to the National Power Corporation and concerned agencies for their consideration and appropriate action.
